Fields for a better Redmond | Letter

As a long-term Redmond resident, I’ve voted in many mayoral elections. This is the first time I’ve strongly supported one candidate over another. I support Steve Fields to be the next mayor of Redmond. His track record gives me confidence that he will continue to listen to what we want as a community.

Redmond is at a crossroads, seeing unprecedented growth and development in recent years. Our entire region is facing challenges associated with skyrocketing costs-of-living, transportation capacity and general quality of life. Nationally and globally, political divisiveness and the existential threat of global climate change weigh heavily on our collective mind.

We need leadership that will rise to the challenge and skillfully and courageously lead us through change, putting people and not special interests first.

Steve Fields is the only candidate with 30 years of extensive government budgeting and business management experience and the skills necessary to lead Redmond in the right direction and set an example that will inspire change not just in our city, but beyond.

Steve is further differentiated through strategic relationships built through decades of community involvement and recent city council experience. These relationships are not with special interest groups, but with real people. The combination of these relationships and his professional background inform Steve’s strategic planning and decision making.

Steve brings a fresh perspective steeped in integrity, character and a much-needed sense of urgency. He will lead Redmond into a new era of accountability, sustainability and regional leadership.

Join me in voting for Steve Fields for Redmond mayor.
