JEANNE MARILYN COLLINS

Jeanne Marilyn Collins passed away peacefully in her sleep during the early morning of June 1, 2018. Jeanne was born in Portland, OR on October 20, 1925 and was married to Richard Theodore Collins – the love of her life!

Having lost Ted in 1976, Jeanne is now survived by her daughters Gary Contos and Kym Mellinger, son Craig Collins, along with daughter-in-law Glenda Ahearn Collins, son-in-law Peter Mellinger, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Jeanne loved her children. She took tremendous pleasure in teaching them, listening to them and guiding them.

Having never lost the travel bug, Jeanne booked many escapades through Elder Hostel where she made many life-long friends from around the country. Fiercely independent, loving and very social, Jeanne lived her life to the fullest and never regretted a day. Her children’s favorite photo of Jeanne finds her standing in her kitchen, raised glass of red wine in hand, wearing her McDonalds red apron purchased at Value Village – huge smile on her face – and doing nothing but enjoying life. She will be missed tremendously!

Jeanne was interred in the same plot with her husband Ted at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland at 9:30 AM, on Thursday June 14th. In lieu of flowers please send any donations in Jeanne’s name to Beck’s Place, P.O. Box 562, Monroe, WA 98272.
